PRP/PRF - Platelet Rich Plasma

Utilize your own platelet rich plasma and platelet rich fibrin to promote natural tissue regeneration, collagen production and glowing and smoother skin.

PRP/PRF are regenerative treatments that can be used for both skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. When used on the face, PRP/PRF will promote natural tissue regeneration and improving the overall appearance of your skin, by tightening the skin, smoothing out textural irregularities, and giving it an overall regenerative glow. When used for hair restoration, PRP/PRF will help to stimulate bulb cells at the base of hair and the surrounding microcirculation to enhance the vitality of your hair and promote growth.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

Platelets are a part of everyone’s whole blood. By extracting and concentrating platelet rich plasma from our own blood, we can strategically deliver a potent mix of growth factors and enzymes that stimulate collagen production, tissue repair, and hair growth. PRP is most commonly used for smoothing fine lines, improving dark circles under the eyes, and encouraging hair regeneration and production.

PRF (PLATELET RICH FIBRIN)

You can consider PRF as a regenerative evolution of PRP. To acquire PRF, a second tube of a patient’s blood is spun to separate the platelets and plasma, and then given time to clot. That tube is then added to the initial platelets, This naturally derived matrix ensures a gradual and sustained release of healing components, enhancing tissue regeneration, and promoting a longer-lasting effect.

PRP and PRF should not be looked upon as competing treatments as each can help address numerous different factors in the aging process. PRF is typically used for superficial skin concerns, while PRF is used to stimulate deeper structures. They can be used on their own or synergistically to promote both immediate and long-term benefits.

At AegisMD, we have multiple protocols for delivering PRP/PRF including the Dermapen4 micro needling pen with topical application, the V2 Beauty Booster micro-channeling hand piece for hair and face, and the US-U225 Meso-injector device. Dr. Plaskos can also inject PRP/PRF manually with a canula or needle to target different layers of the face and skin.

Skin

By promoting the process of natural tissue regeneration, mesotherapy injections of PRP/PRF improve skin quality and smooths fine lines of the face, décolleté and hands. PRP/PRF can additionally help promote long term benefits including enhancing collagen and elastin production.

Dark Eye Circles

The eye area is a particularly fragile region of the face. The delicate tissue under the lower eye lid may appear bluish and give the appearance of dark circles due to common factors such as aging, eye strain, allergies, poor circulation, sun exposure, genetics, and thin skin making the blood vessels appear more prominent. Growth factors present in PRP stimulate the micro-circulation around your eye giving the appearance of brighter, more rejuvenated skin.

Hair

PRP induces regeneration of the hair bulb environment, increasing blood supply and enhancing hair follicle cell proliferation, resulting in stronger, nicer hair.
The use of PRP is a great treatment option for hair loss and thinning hair and has a number of scientifically based articles showing its efficacy in increasing hair count, hair thickness and the growth phase of the hair cycle. Anyone experiencing hair loss is essentially a good candidate for hair PRP. Those with early hair loss tend to respond best. PRP is best used for patients with androgenic alopecia, which is a genetically determined type of hair loss that typically occurs along the top of the head. In women, this might look like a widening part with normal hair thickness at the back of the head.
