Toxin Touch-Ups Before the Holidays

When to Book and What to Expect

If you’re planning to look fresh and well-rested for holiday gatherings, professional toxin treatments like Botox or Dysport can help smooth out dynamic wrinkles in key areas of the face. But timing is everything.

Toxins don’t work instantly. After injection, the product takes time to bind to the muscle receptors and begin softening movement in areas like the forehead, crow’s feet, and glabella (the “11s” between your brows).

Plan to book your appointment 10 to 14 days before any event to give the product time to settle and results to fully appear.

How Long Do Results Last?

Botulinum toxin treatments typically last 3 to 4 months, depending on your metabolism, the area treated, and whether you’re a regular client. For most patients, results appear subtly at first, with peak effects around day 10.

Booking too close to your event may not allow enough time for the full effect to develop, and swelling or minor bruising could still be visible.

At Aegis MD, we recommend seeing your injector 2 to 3 weeks before major events. This offers enough flexibility to adjust if needed and enough time to enjoy your refreshed look.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Toxin touch-ups are quick and minimally invasive. The treatment itself takes about 10 to 15 minutes, with no required downtime. Some patients may experience temporary redness or slight swelling at the injection site, which usually resolves within one to two hours.

Before your visit, avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications if possible, as these can increase the risk of bruising. After treatment, we’ll advise you to avoid vigorous exercise or lying flat for a few hours.

A Subtle, Polished Look

Done correctly, Botox and Xeomin don’t freeze the face. They soften lines while preserving natural expression. You’ll look like yourself, just a little smoother, a little brighter, and a little more energized. The holiday season fills up fast. If you’re aiming for smooth skin and a confident glow before your next gathering, now is the time to schedule your toxin touch-up.
